The Open Web Technology team
Frédéric is the founder of Open Web Technology, a technology and strategy consultancy that develops and operationalizes strategies concerning the sourcing and management of online digital services. He brings 20 years of experience in managing and growing technology firms across Europe. Most recently, Frédéric co-founded Optaros in Boston (USA), now a recognized leader in innovative eCommerce services. Previously, Frédéric served as Novell inc.’s senior vice-president for consulting and services in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He grew into this position following the acquisition by Novell of Cambridge Technology Partners where he served as Managing Director EMEA responsible for developing and executing expansion strategy across 14 offices in 11 countries. Frédéric worked as well for McKinsey & Company as an expert associate principal where he contributed to the launch of the Business Technology Office. Before joining McKinsey, Frédéric Weill worked as a VP of IT for SGS Société Générale de Surveillance (Geneva, Switzerland) and started his career at Accenture. Frédéric is currently serving as president of the Board of ABOnetwork.com, a Mobile application development platform, and served on the Board of the Geneva’s chamber of commerce. Frédéric Weill graduated from the Swiss institute of Technology in Zurich with a specialization in Parallel computer architecture and Business administration.
Alessandro MAGRI is a Director at Open Web Technology. Alessandro is a seasoned management consultant with a broad international experience and about 15 years of experience in strategy, sales and marketing, go-to-market, organization and product design, entrepreneurship and online commerce. Alessandro has a well rounded profile with management experience and a broad industry exposure across many European countries. His strengths reside in leadership, analytical skills, problem solving and his quite unique ability to work with disperse teams to make complex things happen, one idea at a time. Alessandro holds a business administration and engineering degree from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and Ecole Centrale Paris (France). Before joining Open Web Technology, Alessandro has spent many years with McKinsey & Company as an Associate Principal in their High-Tech practice with a specific expertise in Consumer Electronics sales & marketing. Alessandro has also tested his entrepreneurship capabilities by founding for example a new concept of Italian specialties bar in Paris named “Urbietorbi”. Prior to that, he started his career with CM INTERNATIONAL, a niche management consulting firm working on innovation for clients based in Paris, London and Madrid.
Paul de La Rochefoucauld is a well-known figure of today’s European Internet community and a serial entrepreneur who has co-founded over the last ten years a number of successful online start-ups - SourcingParts.com, MFG.com and more recently iTaste.com, and who is working very closely with one the e-commerce pioneer in Switzerland since their very first days: leshop.ch. In short, Paul’s passion lies in bringing the leverage and the disruptiveness of the Internet to traditional business models. On a side note, Paul was recognized as one of the top-100 leaders in Swiss business in 2007. In parallel to his day-to-day, operational involvement with online ventures in Switzerland, Paul enjoys sharing his passion for building and operating innovative web services with a selection of large companies by consulting them with the team of Open Web Technology. A true European, Paul is a French national; he lives in Switzerland and is fluent in French, English and German.
Paul de LA ROCHEFOUCAULD
Before joining Open Web Technology, Kay Flieger was a Director at Optaros where he worked as client partner and account manager with a focus on high tech clients, helping them to conceive, implement, roll-out and operate advanced IT-solutions. Prior to that, Kay Flieger started his career at Cambridge Technology Partners as senior consultant. Now, Mr. Flieger is an Engagement Manager in Open Web Technology office in Geneva, Switzerland. He has over 10 years of consulting and change management experience in the area of e-commerce and customer relationship management. During his career he developed expertise in the areas of IT process optimization, IT architecture definition, outsourcing, IT transformation (combining business strategy and change management skills within a wide variety of industries as telecommunication, high tech, financial services, consumer goods and government sectors
Tito Espinoza holds a Master of Science degree in Communication Systems from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). He his a content management and a dematerialization expert. He is Digital Content Practice Director at Open Web Technology – responsible for the Practice consultancy and business development. He has more than 13 years of experience in delivering technology solutions for professional service firms like Optaros and Cambridge Technology Partners. Tito has deep experience in the eGovernment area.
Joël Gardet is a Program Manager at Open Web Technology and is currently leading the Web Architecture practice. Joel is a seasoned IT Professional with international experience, combining line management, project management, solution architecture and consulting skills. With nearly 15 years of experience, Joël has a well rounded profile with broad industry exposure and excellent technical understanding. He has been involved in the development and roll-out of numerous complex online solutions over the last years. Prior to joining Open Web Technology, Joel held various positions at Optaros, an internet consultancy specialized in eCommerce and Online Marketing. Starting as Program Manager, he was soon promoted to Delivery Manager for Swiss operations, spanning two offices (Geneva and Zurich). Before that, Joel worked as Solution Architect for various consulting firms. Joel owns a Master of Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Lausanne).
An executive background in Technologies, Team building and Change Management, Development, Off shoring, Digital Marketing, SEO/SEM, Operations and support as a strong base for activities to drive productivity, quality and efficiency in relation with the different departments (Marketing, Finance, Operations, Technology...), worldwide After working in the CAD and ERP area, Jean-François joined Paul de La Rochefoucauld in 2000 to create SourcingParts.com as CTO. SourcingParts.com has been sold to MFG.com based in Atlanta in 2006, a private investment from Jeff Bezos. From CTO, Jean-François became Global Development Vice-President and from VP System Architecture. On side, Jean-François worked as CTO for LeShop.ch. In 2009, Jean-François created RampUpIT.com, a digital agency, to assist companies in the digital transformation. For RampUpIT.com, Jean-François was CTO for iTaste.com, driving millions of visitors and more than 90% of SEO traffic. He was CTO from youfinity.com, an US based social network for gifts, and CTO from Lunajets.com. In 2013, RampUpIT.com joined OpenWebTechnologies to reinforce and provide exceptional branded experiences. Head Of Software Development
Since 2000, Laurent worked for multiple successful online startups: leshop.ch, sourcing parts.com, mfg.com. In 2009, he founded RampUp, that helps companies establish a competitive advantage in the online world by working on their web presence, infrastructure and process. He is a software & database architect, proficient at deploying the appropriate technologies and planning the migration paths, to sustain growth and complexity. He manages multiple development teams around the world and is an expert in writing code in different coding languages. Laurent is probably still unbeatable at writing code in many coding languages. Laurent is fluent in many softwares, database applications frameworks and other information technology tools.
Pierre-Olivier is a consultant at Open Web Technology and is part of the Digital Strategy practice. Pierre-Olivier has a well-rounded profile combining robust IT technical knowledge with strategic problem-solving. His strengths reside in creative solutions design, efficient project management and outstanding communication skills in international environments. Pierre-Olivier holds a MSc. Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ). Before joining Open Web Technology, Pierre-Olivier started his career gaining experience at various positions from developing tools for a banking software company in Zürich to helping high-school students understand Economics & Finance in Singapore.
Boudewijn started his career as consultant at Accenture in 1995, mainly involved in the development and deployment of an ERP for Nokia throughout Europe in the mid-90s. He then joined a small Internet consultancy in Geneva before cofounding his own Web Content Management product startup in 2003, serving among others Hewlett-Packard who adopted the product as its worldwide online publishing standard in 2006. Boudewijn acted as CTO until he sold his business in 2009, merging into the acquiring company with all personnel on board. Wishing to work in an agile and entrepreneurial team working on strategic projects, he joined Open Web Technology in 2011 as director. Boudewijn brings entrepreneurial, innovation, product & project management skills to our customers and is able to work at executive level on a wide range of cross-organizational issues, projects and programs with an online focus. Boudewijn holds a MSc. in Communication Systems from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology from Lausanne, graduated from the Eurécom Institute in Sophia Antipolis (France) and followed the Program for Executive Development at IMD in Lausanne.
Boudewijn VAN DOORN
Romain is a consultant at Open Web Technology’s digital strategy practice. Romain combines strong technical knowledge with outstanding communication and project management skills. Romain shines when it comes to designing a concept and bringing it into reality. Previously to joining Open Web Technology, Romain founded a technology-powered investment fund specialized in risk management that now employs five people and protects assets of private clients all around the world. Romain holds a MSc. in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ).
Conrado is a consultant at Open Web Technology. He is greatly appreciated by our clients for his calm and professional demeanor, but also for his broad range of skills in eCommerce, CMS, collaboration tools and Web development project management. <p>He has good knowledge of cloud computing topics derived from big data projects. His recent endeavors have brought him experience in working in the public sector, the telecommunications and the global travel industry. He also hands-on experience in a web 2.0 start-up and is member of the board at Searchlight School, a non-profit organization. Conrado holds a MSc. in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ)</p>
Deniz is consultant at Open Web Technology working for the Digital Strategy Practice. Prior to that, Deniz held positions at Microsoft in Beijing and IBM in New York. His entrepreneurial spirit has been shaped by his involvement in the development of many startups. Deniz graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) with a Master of Science in Communication Systems and a Minor in Management of Technology and Entrepreneurship. He also studied a year abroad at Carnegie Mellon University in the USA
